This annual fundraiser features 4 amazing workshops over 2 days and 1 over the top Gala Showcase on Saturday night!  Plus unique treasures and bellydance costumes, jewelry and more from your friends at Tribe Nawaar all day Saturday. You won’t want to miss it. Over 24 Dance and Drum Groups will bring you the best of Belly Dance, Bollywood and Samba! The largest gathering of dancers in Northern Colorado!

 

The bellydance workshops from guest instructors Princess Farhana of Hollywood, Phoenix of Denver and Julia DiVerdi of Sumatra in Fort Collins are sure to educate and inspire you while giving you some solid technique and a wonderful mix of new bellydance moves.

with Julia DiVerdi In this workshop dancers will delve into movement variations key to creating the ooiest of goo including tempo, size, level, origin, breath and more!

Go With The Flow: Musicality, Sexuality, Texture and Fluid Transitions

with Princess Farhana This workshop deals with the esoteric dance mechanics that turn an average performance into a show-stopper.

Egyptian Golden Age Style

with Princess Farhana After a brief history of the Golden Age and its stars, we will learn combinations to vintage music from the Golden Age, such as the work of Farid Al Atrache, Mohamed, Abdel Wahab and the great Um Kalthoum.

Sharp, Surprising, Smooth and Slinky Ideas for your Drum Solo

Join Phoenix to work through accents, flow, transition, surprises, musicality and construction for your own personal drum choreography. Combinations and technique include moves that pop, lock, slink and surprise for creative dances.

Shimmy a benefit hosted by Dance4SWAY Fort Collins, CO 2017A benefit for Alternatives to Violence of Larimer County ATV - Alternatives to Violence

Not only will you learn a lot at the workshops and have a great time at the show, you will be helping make the world a better place. This year’s proceeds will go to help Alternatives to Violence’s mission to create safe houses and safe spaces for victims of violence and abuse.
