This shamadan is a large candelabrum that is traditionally used in Egyptian belly dance, particularly during wedding processions called “Zeffa”. The dancer balances it on their head, illuminating the path for the wedding party. While traditionally used with real candles, modern adaptations sometimes use faux candles for safety.
