More About Our Secret Garden Sari Fringe Hip Scarf
These scarves are made of the most decadent and luscious up-cycled fabrics available. A fabulous choice for all dance genres and all genders.. for stage work or fun dress up for class!
Fabric & Construction:
Our premium vintage sari fabric content is typically about 70% silk, 30% viscose. These up-cycled fabrics are cleaned, pressed and custom tailored into our fabulous one of a kind scarves. We’ve added a sturdy black lining to the inside for support. Double layered black cotton ties keep the scarf securely in place.
Hand dyed and tied fringe along the bottom accents movement.
.
Wear Them Reversed:

The all black lining allows you to wear the scarf reversed. Just clip the tags, if they show (they often are hidden when the scarf is tied). This gives you 2 great looks from one beautiful scarf!
Customize Them:
The black base (worn reversed) is a great neutral canvas to create an entirely different look. You can use fabric glue or hand sew (taking care not to go thru to the sari side) assorted trims and decorations. We’ve done similar things to our Corseted Bodice Tops (which can also be worn reversed) for a gothic inspired performance we did.
Fit:
Many dancers tie these so they sit a little higher at the center of the scarf with the tie section sitting a little lower as shown in the photo. If you are less curvy they easily fit tied straight across. If you are more curvy you can add darts along the top to hug curves.
Size:
The ties allow these to fit a variety of sizes. Sari sections are about 39″ long across horizontally and about 15″ at the longest point down the center. Fringe is about 23″ long (can be cut for our shorter dancer friends). Both ends of scarf have about 21″ long ties.. allowing these to fit a large variety of sizes easily.
Care:
Dry Clean Only.
How To Wear Them
1. They are amazing worn with any of our skirts! The fringe bounces with shimmies and floats up during spins.. accenting your every movement!
2. We also adore them layered over our Sariloons! No need for a skirt at all. Both garments complement each other perfectly. We love this options for larger sets where we want to do simple costume changes between songs. Just slide the skirt off and voilá! Choose matching or contrasting pants for a variety of looks.
3. You can wear any top with these! Our corseted bodices, like our Sariloons and Sari Fringe Scarves, are eco-chic and totally decadent with these scarves. Or wear them paired with any of our choli tops or bras for a classic look.
4. Additional belts are not needed but can be added, for a truly opulent look.
What Is Eco-Chic?
Eco-chic is what we like to call garments that are made with a focus on being environmentally mindful, low waste and 100% stylish. Our sari fringe scarves are up-cycled, meaning the fabric has been repurposed from already existing garments and textiles.
How does this work?
We start with a premium vintage fabric that is no longer being used as a traditional sari/saree. This is then cleaned, pressed and custom tailored into our fabulous one of a kind hip wraps. Only the ties and lining on the inside are newly produced.
This type of fabric reuse is one of the best things we can do for the environment. It helps unused garments find a new purpose and reduces the amount of textiles that end up in landfills. A win for you and a win for the planet!

Good For You And The Environment
A great way to show your commitment to the environment while getting to own a fabulous one-of-a-kind work of art.
And a work of art that you can wear is pretty fabulous!
This calibre of high quality vintage fabric is becoming rare and hard to find. Don’t wait if you see one you love. We are never sure exactly what colors and styles we’ll be able to get in future batches.
