Balance
There lies a place not often explored where the dragon and phoenix struggle toward balance. Tibetan
horns are heard far off in the distance; flutes and vocals hum a solemn melody, fingers dance on the
strings of a lute; rumbling drums echo like a crescendo of gusting wind. Solace takes us farther east
fusing Middle Eastern compositions with Far Eastern themes and percussion. "Balance" marriages these distinct tonalities creating a unique cross-cultural blend of traditionalism and the electronic elements of Ambient, Trance and Trip-Hop.

Rhythm of the Dance
Rhythm is the heartbeat of most dance styles and reflects the life and meaning of all cultures. Rhythm
Of The Dance reflects the diverse and sometimes complicated rhythms of the Middle East. Each piece
has its own distinct feel and tempo, moving into crashing, thundering waves of percussion, to the quiet rumble of a calm stream. A great rhythm study for any beginning or intermediate drummer curious about Middle Eastern rhythms. Rhythm chart included in the CD booklet.

Satya
Dark, pulsing and uplifting describes Solace's 5th CD, which fuses classical Indian vocals and tabla with heavy rhythmic club/dance elements. "The mirror never lies" is the underlying theme, revealing the truth behind the face and the minds eye. Introspective, innovative, prolific, and provoking, Satya takes us into
the depths of our conscience, while twisting through rhythmic Indian modes and melodies atop an
exquisite layer of loops and arrangements with a hint of electronica. |

Sha'wâza
Sha'wâza begins like a sweeping whisper. Fingers dance on the strings of a dulcimer, speaking in
unworldly poetic verses. Deep, vibrating drums answer the calls of the dulcimer as haunting string arrangements build up into a complex, but beautiful musical sound-scape. Sha'wâza will take you on
a musical journey of feelings and thoughts, invoking the grand spiritual questions of life, death and
rebirth. Electronic, orchestral elements are merged with Middle Eastern percussion such as dumbeks,
frame drums, riqqs, djembes and finger cymbals. Other various melodic instruments include Oud, and
Saz played masterfully by Dann M. Torres of Knossos. |
