Original painting on thick cardstock. Elephants are thought to bring good luck and are the face of Ganesh. This piece has amazing textural detailing. Approximately 7" tall x 8 5/8" wide. Hand painted in India.

Ganesh in Repose

Seen resting on a rock, this original piece is hand painted on old government paper which bears the official stamp of the regional governent on the front. Paper is fragile, has some tearing along its edges and has some patched areas on the back. Ganesh is the remover of obsticles and is thought to bring good luck and symbolize new beginnings. Approximately 8 3/4" wide x 12 3/4" tall. Hand painted in India.

Isis

Depicted here with a throne headpiece and wings, Isis has been described as 'She who gives birth to heaven and earth, knows the orphan, knows the widow, seeks justice for the poor, and shelter for the weak' and is the feminine archetype for creation. The empty throne headpiece is symbolic of the events relating to Osiris and her wings represent ascension and are associated with the Phoenix, who is the female bird of resurrection. Hand painted on papyrus in Egypt. Some waving in papyrus. Approximately 9 3/4" tall x 12 3/4" wide.

Egyptian Calendar

This ancient Egyptian calendar depicts twelve figures representing each month of the year. Four Gods represent north, south, west and east, four Goddesses representing each of the seasons, spring, summer, winter and fall and twenty four hands holding the circle represent the hours in a day. Hand painted on papyrus in Egypt. Approximately 13 1/2" wide x 9" tall.
